Dodd-Frank Act

Trading Term

The Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, signed into law on July 21, 2010. This was enacted as a response to the financial crisis of 2008 and contains numerous provisions intended to decrease risk in the US financial system. The act also established new agencies tasked with overseeing various components of the banking system. For more information, see the SEC website.
