While SIPC coverage does not extend to Forex related products which do not meet the definition of a security such as listed commodity currency futures, options on commodity currency futures and OTC Forex instruments such as forwards and swaps, cash maintained in the securities portion of an IB LLC account is insured in an amount of up to USD 250,000 equivalent regardless of how the cash is denominated in terms of a particular national currency.
